About Sundown Aviation

Sundown Aviation is a family aviation business in Southern Indiana born from a love of flight and desire to light that flame in others.  We're based in Columbus, Indiana and serve KBAK and the surrounding airports.      

At Sundown we aim to conduct ourselves in a professional manner with the customers and community we serve.  We prioritize communication and transparency – especially in training progress and pricing for our services.

Bill Reid is the flight instructor and manages day-to-day operations.  He is the son of a Naval Flight Officer and has loved flight since he was a child.  In 2015 Bill earned his private pilot certificate and immediately recognized the benefit of an instrument rating for travel.  He added an instrument rating in 2017 and appreciates the structure and precision required for instrument flying. 

Bill’s wife, Ann, is the business owner.  She enjoys flight for the views and time savings it provides for family travel. 

The Reid kids all pitch in, too.  They help in our detailing business and other behind the scenes work.

The founders of Sundown are followers of Christ and see parallels in the freedom and accountability of flight to each person’s decision to follow or reject Christ as Savior and Lord of their life.  We hope you’ve made the choice to accept Him as your Savior and Lord.  Either way, we’d love to talk to you about questions you might have and our faith in Him.
